This report will be reviewed by the Board and will provide a private and public session on this report in regards to the School District Police Department.

- Dr. Laura Kingsley recognized the Embracing Out Differences organization and the Sarasota County Teacher Ambassadors, with special recognition going to Graci and Dennis McGillicuddy. Sarah Wertheimer, Brenna Wilhm, and Graci and Dennis McGillicuddy spoke regarding Embracing Our Differences.

APPROVAL OF EASEMENT ON SAILOR CIRCUS PARCEL AT SARASOTA HIGH FOR FLORIDA POWER & LIGHTDescription As part of the renovation for Sailor Circus, Florida Power & Light is installing new electrical service. Florida Power & Light needs to obtain a utility easement from the School Board in order to install the new service. The location of the easement includes property owned by Sarasota County Schools as identified in the attached easement documents.
Recommendation That the School Board of Sarasota County approve the Florida Power & Light utility easement on the Sailor Circus parcel which is adjacent to Sarasota High School, as presented.

APPROVAL OF HUDSON BAYOU DRAINAGE MAINTENANCE EASEMENT FOR SARASOTA COUNTYDescription As part of the Hudson Bayou Drainage Project, Sarasota County needs to obtain a drainage maintenance easement from the School Board in order to maintain the flow of the canal that runs through the Sarasota High School campus.

APPROVAL OF AFFILIATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN HARBOR CHASE AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLDescription The School Board offers to enrolled students a Health Science program and Harbor Chase manages a health care facility. The School Board desires to provide to its students a clinical learning experience through the application of knowledge and Clinical Skills in actual patient-centered situations in a health care facility. Harbor Chase has agreed to make its facility available to School Board for such purposes.

APPROVAL FOR THE TWO-YEAR EXTENSION OF THE COLLEGE BOARD: SPRINGBOARD ELA TEXTBOOK FROM AUGUST 2019 - JULY 2021Description To approve the adoption extension of The College Board: SpringBoard ELA textbook, as the primary instructional tool for gifted 6-12 English Language Arts instruction. This textbook was initially adopted in 2014. SpringBoard helps students build extensive content knowledge with close reading and analysis of texts, critical viewing, wide-ranging independent reading, and lively, engaging classroom discussion.

APPROVAL OF THE DUAL ENROLLMENT ARTICULATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA SARASOTA-MANATEE AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDADescription This agreement is for USF Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) and The School Board of Sarasota County (SCSB) to enter into a Dual Enrollment Agreement to create opportunities for eligible high school students from Sarasota County Schools to pursue college instruction in the Dual Enrollment program at USFSM.

Due to fiscal considerations, the grant supports two (2) weeks of the Summer 2018 and four (4) weeks of the Summer 2019 program.

APPROVAL OF ADDENDUM TO THE VENICE MIDDLE YOUNG MARINES FIELD TRIP TO FRANCEDescription This is an addendum to change the original approved field trip date of June 1-10, 2019 to the new field trip date of June 3-12, 2019. Venice Middle Young Marines will take part in the 75th Anniversary of D-Day events.

These students will also have a performance of their own.

They will view Broadway shows and explore the rich culture of NYC.

35. APPROVAL AND/OR RATIFICATION OF FACILITIES SERVICES' CHANGE ORDERS.Description The Facilities Services' change orders are summarized on the enclosure for ease of review. These change orders collectively total a decrease of ($84,284.92) in gross contract dollars. ($39,749.31) is going back into project 5542 budget. ($44,535.61) is going back into project 5500 budget.

ACCEPTANCE OF CONSTRUCTION SERVICES' PROJECT COMPLETION AND APPROVAL OF FINAL PAYMENT TO CONTRACTOR FOR THE TAYLOR RANCH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PORTABLES 2018.Description All work has been completed and all required close-out documents have been received from the contractor. The final project costs have been internally audited for approval and are enclosed herein the final payment to the contractor. The Director of Construction Services Department has determined that the project is complete in accordance with state statutes.
Recommendation That the project be accepted as complete and the final payment to contractor be approved as presented.

APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION MANAGER'S PRECONSTRUCTION SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE NORTH PORT HIGH SCHOOL HVAC CHILLER REPLACEMENT PROJECTDescription The project's scope of work shall include preconstruction services and construction services to resize and replace the existing air-cooled chillers, associated pumps, variable frequency drives and add and refurbish ice storage tanks. This contract covers the preconstruction services portion only for this project. The contract for construction services will be negotiated separately at a future date. The amount of this contract is $27,000.00. The total project budget is $3,500,000.00. Funds for this project are available in the capital budget account.
Recommendation That the construction manager's preconstruction services contract for the North Port High School HVAC Chiller Replacement project be approved as presented.
